Swati Banerjee

Instructor

Swati is a trained dancer/choreographer and is currently affiliated at Nandanik Dance Academy as a Contemporary dance Instructor. She got her 12 years of extensive training in Indian Contemporary Dance from the famous Tanushree Shankar, who nurture the dance-style of the international legend Uday Shankar, at Ananda Shankar Center for Performing Arts, Kolkata, India.

She was a troupe member in Tanushree Shankar Dance Company, before she moved to USA in 2006, to persuade her academic career as a Graduate student.

She also has 6 years of classical dance training in Kathak from her Guru, Sri Deepak Pariwal and received Senior Diploma (Lucknow Gharana). Swati really enjoys tobe creative by fusing the ethnic classical form of dance with the modern contemporary style. She has performed and choreographed in various places for different occasions.

She is a Research Specialist in Biology in University of Pittsburgh and enjoys every beats of her life by blending science into rhythm.
