Fusion Dance

fusion.jpg

Anandashankar introduced fusion music to the easy and west with his very innovative orchestra in the Seventies Eighties, and Nineties. His music provided ample scope to choreographers around the globe to create dances combining Indian and western dance forms. His wife Tanushri Shankar, disciple of Amalashankar and Uday Shankar, evolved her own style of dance form inspired by Ananda’s ethereal music.

This particular style is rooted deeply in the core spirit of India. Here dances are performed theatrically without any bias on pure classical or authentic rigid style of dance, instead fusion dances are all spontaneous and creative. This style will be taught by Swati Banerjee, a student of Tanushri Shankar.
